Flash Sale? Oh go suck an egg.

I recently have been on the prowl for a new power bank as my old one went kinda loco on me.  It will charge any other USB device…..except for my phone.  So little old me went on the hunt.

I heard about this upcoming Chinese brand Xiaomi and read great reviews coming from mostly Chinese citizens.  I did more research and found out that its now yet available here in the Philippines.  I dug a little deeper and learned that they will have a flash sale at Lazada.ph on Sept. 4 (today).

I decided to get the 10200mAh one for the whopping price tag of…tan tanan nan….P645.  So I set the alarm for 11:30 am, pulled out the picture of my chubby niece, kissed it for luck, placed it in front of the computer screen and waited for that infamous flash sale that sells out in 10 seconds.

11:30 am …..camped out in front of the screen

11:40 am got my cards and payment details ready, kissed the picture of the niece again

11:50 am the quickest lunch of my life

11:53 back in front of the screen

11:59 am Bring it!

12:00 noon Got in up to the checkout screen for the Mi 10200 mAh power bank……until i was about to click the final payment button then it flashed sold out! Damn you LAZADA!

My mind reeled and went into Plan B mode, BUY THE 5200 mAh one!!

Finally bought the smaller one for the amazing price of….wait for it……P445 plus P99 shipping .  Maybe that was all I really needed.  Come to think of it, one charge is all I would ever need when im out.

Can’t wait for it to arrive!

P.S. I’m thinking that I got sucked in into all of this flash sale hype, i even feel great that I snagged one.  Wait, I don’t feel just great, i’m buzzin’ ….. and that is all part of the experience.  Mwah!

Wide Angle Jelly Lens Review

I got this really fun Wide Angle Jelly Lens today.  It gave me hours of fun!!  The photo tends to look blurred and it give you that “green ring” around the photo but its soo fun.  This tiny detachable lens sticks to your phone but i would recommend that you test it out first.  I had to go through two units before one stuck to my phone.  This give you that special wide angle effect that expands your field of vision.  I warn you that this is not for taking good quality photos.  The green ring is kind of disturbing and dulls the quality of the photo but for its price of P80 at CDR king, its quite decent. The lens just keep falling off because the sticky ring does not work properly.  I just hold it in place and remove it after my shot.   For more quality pictures, better try the Olloclip but prepare to pay the premium price of $65.

I’d rather have this plastic lens that i’d only use once in a blue moon.

The cream comes in a cute container that looks like a baby bee/ larva. It’s green and contains 30ml. It has a thick and creamy consistency, like a balm. It smells like Citrus but not too strong.

Minime Perfume Stick Ms. Twinkle

I have been eyeing this perfume stick ever since etude opened in our local mall.  MiniME Perfumed Stick is a solid fragrance stick available in five unique fragrances.  I got the miss twinkle which is a fruity floral scent which i love.

It isn’t as long staying as I want it to be.  The fragrance stay 1-2 hours after applying it.

What I like is that it is not messy to put on and it can fit easily in my bag.  I would definitely buy again….

Tony Moly Tomatox Magic Whitening Massage Pack

I was excited to walk into a Tony Moly Store because we don’t have on here in Iloilo.  I’m a big fan of korean products so I did my research before going in.  I asked the store clerks on what products do their customers buy.  They then suggested the Tomatox.  It has a nice tomato packaging and it smelled nice so I decided to try it.

When you open the packaging, you will see this bright red tomato.  When you twist it open you will see a small spatula and a cover to prevent the product from drying out.

The Directions for using the product:

1.  After washing the face, towel dry.

2.  Take an adequate amount of the product and softly massage with fingers for about 1 – 2 minutes.

3.  After massaging, leave on for 5 – 10 minutes.

4.  Then gently wash with water (do not use soap or cleanser).

5.  Towel dry skin with light patting motion.

As I was putting on the mask, I did feel a slight stinging feeling on my face which gradually dissapeared after a few minutes.  It did not leave any redness on my skin, must be the anti oxidant part of the mask working.

The screen is nice and crisp.  I wished it were bigger though.  The design is the same as the iphone 4.  The real difference comes from its innards. Better camera, faster brain.   waaah!

To protect the phone from occasional drops, I got a nice Incipio Feather Ultralight Hard Shell case.  It really cushions the impact and its matte material gives me that non sticky feel.

Its a great phone but my battery only last half the day due to nonstop tinkering.  The solution was to turn off the wifi, the screen brightness, bluetooth, location services and  the gps.  It really helped a lot.

Etude House Precious Mineral BB Cream All Day Strong

Etude House reformulated their precious mineral bb cream into an all day strong version and I decided to try it.  It’s my second BB cream purchase and im still loving the first one.

This one claim to have 3 efficacies (as written on the box)

1. UV protection

2. Whitening

3. Anti-wrinkle

Price: P728

The BB cream comes in a tube with a pump.  Its nice and it feels extremely lightweight on my skin and gives my skin a very healthy glow.  The product is not very thick and is easy to apply to skin.  It dries to a powdery matte finish.  I would definitely buy again because its kinda cheap for a 60 ml tube.
